“Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.” (Rev. 2:20)

Historically, Jezebel was the wife of Ahab, and was a worshipper of Baal (1 Kings 16:31). She was also a manipulator and did not respect male authority (1 Kings 21:8-14). In addition, she hated the prophetic men of God and sought to have them killed (1 Kings 18:4). Lastly, she was a seducer (2 Kings 9:30).Although Jezebel is a historical figure, Jezebel is also a literal evil spirit. Indeed, I have faced off with this demon many a times. It’s tactics has not changed as stated in the above texts.

There are many prophetic and apostolic men who are being seduced by the spirit of Jezebel without even knowing. These men have been called of God to do an incredible work for the kingdom of God; yet, have been seduced into sexual immorality. Some of you may be given to pornography, others of you may be committing adultery, fornicating, or enslaved to masturbation. You feel increasing powerless to break the power of the immorality and your spirit man is “dry”.

Their are others that are called of God that are being swept away by some other demonic enslavement. Notice in the Rev 2:20 text, Jezebel also led men/women to have fellowship with idols. And we know that behind the idols are demons (Deut. 32:17; Psa. 106:37; 1 Cor. 10:20). This can show up many different forms. Whether it be yoga, profane music/subcultures (heavy metal, hip-hop, goth, or etc), and etc. In short, many have been seduced in following demonic manipulation that capitalizes on the desires of the flesh. Just as many in the church of Thyatira did not know they were being seduced, many in today’s church are being seduced and deceived without knowing.

These tactics are employed by the kingdom of darkness to neutralize many who have been called and gifted of the Lord. We must begin to discern the tactics and clothe ourselves with the presence of the Lord Jesus (Rom. 13:14) and the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20).

Men of God, do not read this post as condemnation. Read it as an exhortation. Repent and turn back to your first love, Jesus Christ. If you need deliverance, seek deliverance! Become disciplined in your spirit and set your face to the Father. He loves you and has called you to Himself.

“Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.” (2 Cor. 6:17)

I am praying for you brothers!
