Mission & Scope

Historically, New England has been known for its Ivy League schools such as, Yale University (Connecticut), Dartmouth University (New Hampshire), Harvard University (Massachusetts), and Brown University (Rhode Island). Yet, many are unaware that these elite institutions have Christian roots. In addition, in the 1700s, Connecticut was a key starting point of a revival that has been labeled “The Great Awakening”. This revival was initiated by one of the greatest theologians of all-time—Jonathan Edwards. Through Edwards’ brilliant mind and preaching, the power of God spread through New England and beyond, regenerating thousands.

Awaken New England’s desire and hope is to see New England return back to its Christian roots through the preaching of the gospel that brings regeneration.

Below is the summary and scope of Awaken New England Ministries:

1) To preach the gospel in the greater New England region and to the ends of the earth:

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15).

2) To demonstrate the power of God through setting captives free from demonic influence:

“Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out. And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.” (Mark 1:38-39)

3) To help strengthen the churches by teaching the Word of God:

“Paul chose Silas and departed, having been commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.” (Acts 15:40-41)

4) To make disciples who make disciples:

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”

(Matt. 28:19-20).
