Rejection is naturally unwanted by us as human beings; this is normal. However, when the fear of rejection controls our decisions, responses, personality and is a consistent way of life, there is something more going on. When a person can’t give or receive love, can’t trust, always expects the worse and gets offended very easily, it is likely there is more going on than what meets the eye. The same way that there is a literal spirit of depression, spirit of suicide, there is also a literal spirit(s) of rejection. From my experience, I have come across this spirit(s) multiple times and it seems to be one of the root demonic spirits in Satan’s arsenal. It appears rejection comes in three forms: perceived rejection, fear of rejection, and self-rejection.

Perceived Rejection

Perceived rejection tells its host that they are being rejected when they are really not. A person who is in bondage to this spirit always reads correction as rejection. They will blow a minor correction out of proportion. It seems as if a filter is placed on the mind of the host and when innocent statements are made, they interpret those statements as a form of rejection or offense. If something can be interpreted as being positive or negative, it is almost always being interpreted as negative even though it was the farthest thing from the mind of who said it.

Generally speaking, these type of persons can be incredibly insecure and suspicious.

Fear of rejection

Fear of rejection will always rob a person of joy. He or she is constantly on guard against what other people may think. A person who has this spirit will constantly think along the lines of, “I can’t do that because they may think this or that”, so they are always maneuvering to avoid being rejected.

Self-Rejection

A person who has a self-rejection spirit literally rejects who they are. They usually have a very low self-image, they are filled with all types of anxiety, worry, insecurities, and etc. They can be the most beautiful person on the outside but then on the inside they have this supremely low self-image and it drives them. It is internally compulsive. Someone who is suffering from this spirit will say things like, “They said they didn’t want me and they were right; I’m not worth anything. When someone gets in this place, depression is not too far behind. And when depression creeps in, it is likely the person may begin to have bouts of suicidal ideations which will potentially attract spirits of suicide. In my view, this spirit is very likely behind those who are considering a sex change or have already “transitioned”. Do you see how diabolical and crafty the enemy is?

Starved of Love

When people are suffering from the oppression of rejection, the core issue is love and assurance of self-worth. The effects of being in bondage to rejection, brings forth the undermining, breaking, or preventing normal and harmonious relationships between family members, marriage partners, co-workers, and acquaintances. It is a horrible bondage. Moreover, the ultimate goal is to keep one from coming to Jesus for salvation and will definitely prevent a Christian from reaching his or her full potential with God.

The root issue when it comes to folks who are in bondage to rejection is love and acceptance. The only One that can love and accept you perfectly is Jesus Christ which is why I emphasize the need to be intimate with Jesus. We need to be secure in His love and His Presence. We need to have that firm and solid conviction of His love and continue to seek Him and grow in Him. So when rejection comes, we will know how to respond and treat the wounds. However, if we are not intimate with Christ, and we do not know the love of God, the house will crumble, and potentially lead to depression. Rejection will not only run our lives it will ruin our lives.

If this article describes you or someone you know, be encouraged, Jesus can free you from this bondage. If you do not know Jesus, I encourage to read the Gospel of John and ask Him to speak to you. Repent of your sins and surrender your life to Him.

If you do know Him, go to Him and ask Him to free you from the rejection mindset, emotional bondage, and the spirits that are keeping you enslaved. Feel free to say the following prayer or any variation (as many times as possible) over the course of days, weeks, months, or years:

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you to because I believe I am enslaved to rejection. Father, I forgive all of those who have hurt me, slandered my name, and intentionally did harm to me. Forgive me for holding onto resentment, bitterness, anger, and other emotion that goes against your law of love. I renounce the spirits of perceived rejection, fear of rejection, and self rejection (which ever applies to you). By the authority of Jesus Christ, I command these spirits to leave now in the name of Jesus!

Thank you Father for your healing, in Jesus name, Amen.
